Today we are launching patch v1.1.2. This patch includes the new AI system as well as some other minor changes. The change to the enemy AI has had a very profound effect on the way the game feels. The challenge is still there but it’s different now, it feels less random in our opinion which is great. The level will start off calm as you explore and build up your forces, but it gets more hectic as the match continues. Also we felt more motivated to upgrade our units to deal with the new mechanics and situations your units will endure, whereas in the past if you truly wanted to beat the level many stats were not very necessary. It’s still new so it’s likely to be tweaked over time.

We are moving on to working on the new scenarios and improving the level generator.

Here are some of the up and coming scenarios:

Survive Scenario:

you must survive in an increasingly hostile environment. You will have 3 minutes to build up your colony then after that the map will begin to fill up with damage chemicals, extreme temperatures, or even radioactive isotopes.

Colonize Scenario:

You must breed a certain amount of a unit within the time limit. You will not get to pick which unit you will have to breed.

Exterminate Scenario:

Very similar to the current scenario. You will have to kill a certain number of a unit type. Within the time limit. For example you may have to kill 50 enemy colonizers. Killing all of the target unit type will also result in success .

Defend Scenario:

You will have to keep the host at a certain level of health for a certain amount of time. This can be difficult as it means you can no longer really risk killing cells for resources, and you will have to be able to engage the enemy much quicker than usual.

Disease Scenario:

You must bring the host down to a certain health or kill it within the time limit.

Standard Scenario:

You must annihilate all the enemy bacteria. Unlike the current scenario, this scenario will not have a time limit. Now that we have a competent AI this scenario is possible.

*All of the above game modes are subject to change as we continue development.

We also hope to be adding back in some of our other environments we have shown in the past as well as improving our current levels.

As always please feel free to give us feedback on our Subreddit. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas about CURE, and thank you to everyone who has sent us feedback and suggestions.
