So i installed the game in a custom location (Unsure if that is relevant), then after opening launcher as Admin, the launcher came up with the 'Play' button grey, and the grey bar i assume is a loading bar which didnt move for 5 minutes. So i thought i may have messed up installing it, so i uninstalled it correctly through the files, then tried reinstalling it. Now the installer continues to tell me that "CURE is already installed on this computer." I've searched the entire PC for any file related to CURE, and only found 1-2 text documents in the Local Appdata folder.

I am having the same problem, I deleted the game to reinstall it after having an issue running the game after I had it previously installed; the play button was greyed out.

Would you do me a favor and check if the program is still installed in your control panel add and remove programs window. As far as the grayed out play button is concerned. Some times the Patcher takes a minute to get rolling. We are working on fixing this issue, but try opening the launcher and let it run for a few minutes. If it still does not start downloading the game. Then you can go to: http://curethegame.com/demo/help for a direct download of the game files. This version of the game will not auto update however. Thanks for your patience on this issue.

I had similiar problem. Installation started, and i launched tutorial about this game in full-screen. When i watched it to the end and checked installation progress, it showed me an error - somehting about incorrect installation.
Well, shortcut on the desctop didn't had it's image, and after i checked game folder - it was completely empty.
I tried to install the game again, but it seem like it checks that this program was added to registry anyways, and i wasn't able to install it.
But uninstalling program through Uninstall Tool (which also clenses registry) helped me, and i was able to start installation again (this time - sucesfuly).

Way to solve this problem for people who can't and/or don't know how to properly delete programs from their PC - is to add uninstallation option into installator.
So, if the game is "installed" allready, it will suggest 3 options: Install anyways (in another destinanion, if user wants it), delete it (both installation path and registry), or reinstall it (delete + install in same location).

Thanks Neurax for the suggestion, we will consider what you have said.

I've run into this issue as well with the current demo build on Windows 10 (64).

1. When initially installing the demo, I used the Game folder that other games on this system were installed in. When doing so, I got the same installation "System.FormatException" reported in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=59

2. I hit "Continue", but was unable to do anything else and the installer didn't appear to be doing anything.

3. I closed the installer and ran the Launcher, which appeared to run but also didn't do anything for several minutes.

4. I uninstalled the game using the uninstaller in the game folder, and received an error. All files were removed from the game folder with the exception of the uninstaller itself.

5. I manually deleted the uninstaller as well as the containing folder.

6. I attempted to install the game again.

---> I received the message saying the game was installed.

In an attempt to resolve this, I tried the following:
1. Check "Programs and Features" - the game was not listed.
2. Manually check the registry using regedit in areas I would expect the game to have recoreded info.
3. Ran searches in the registry for "cure" and "cryogenic" - no results.
4. Ran file/folder searches on all of C: for "cure" and "cryogenic" - found a few log files and deleted them.
5. Ran CCleaner to remove temp files and such.
6. Rebooted.

After all of these, the installer continues to say that I have the game installed.

While it would be great to have the installer provide options to fix/uninstall as well as doing a fresh installation, knowing where the installer is looking to verify that the game is already installed would at least allow users to resolve the issue themselves until it can be fixed.

I'm super excited for the game, so I hope to be able to try it out soon!

Hello there. Sad you have the problems, but as far ass i know - at this state many people encounter similiar troubles. Will try to help with my best, although i'm not the specialist myself too.

Demo is shared through torrents, so you have probably got unlucky with time and tried to install it, when noone was seating. I have it in my torrent list all the time and sharing whenever i can, but, maybe, i had PC in sleepmode or shut down when you tried to install it, not sure.

Probably, you still didn't found something in the registry. And because you wasn't able to solve this manualy, i suggest you to use external software for that. I had same problem, and "Uninstall Tool" worked perfectly.

Well, if you wasn't able to solve the problems with Uninstall Tool (if you are able to get this software, ofcource), you can try to download the demo from the GameKicker page.
Or you can try to use this especialy designed "Help" section.
http://curethegame.com/demo/help/
There you can download allready "ready to play" client. Hovewer, it won't be updated automaticaly, when (if...) there will be updates to this Demo, so, you will have to periodicaly check the site in order to be sure that you areplaying last one.

I hope this helps.

The stand alone client works for me, thanks!

Hopefully we can get details on where keys are put (for manually fixing the issue when it comes up) or a new installer that can clean up old installs, rather than just erroring, in the near future.

At any rate, it's a lot of fun. Here's hoping I can beat it!
